Activities We Regulate
The GCGRA has a mandate to regulate and oversee all commercial gaming activities in the UAE, which include lottery, internet gaming, sports wagering and land-based integrated gaming facilities or resorts.
Any commercial gaming activity conducted in the UAE without a license is illegal and violators, including persons who play unlicensed games, will be subject to penalties.
Lottery
Lottery is a type of commercial gaming that involves buying or betting for tickets with numbers or symbols, hoping to match them with the ones drawn by a random generator to win cash or other types of rewards.
Internet Gaming
Internet Gaming is a form of commercial gaming that is conducted via the internet, using a computer, a mobile phone or any other digital device with access to websites or apps that offer various games and bets involving chance, skill, or a combination of chance and skill. Examples of such games include bingo, casino games (slots, roulette, blackjack, baccarat, craps, and poker), eSports, fantasy games, peer-to-peer games, skill-based games, sports, and more.
Sports Wagering
Wagering is a form of commercial gaming that involves betting on the outcome of sports events or the performance of athletes or teams. Sports bettors can place their bets legally through licensed bookmakers or sportsbooks.
